North DeKalb Primary Care | Application Preview
North DeKalb Primary Care is seeking government grants to enhance its services and improve patient care in an underserved area of North DeKalb County, Alabama. The funding will be used to purchase an EKG machine and upgrade office computers, with plans to eventually add x-ray capabilities and ultrasound services.
The clinic is focused on offering a unique blend of naturopathic and herbal medicine, alongside weight loss injections, vitamin infusions, and oxygen therapy. Since opening, the clinic has seen a gradual increase in patient numbers and aims to further assist the community by providing more in-house diagnostic tools to reduce the need for patients to travel for necessary tests.
The clinic faces competition from several nearby healthcare facilities, including Doctors Med Care, Northside Medical, and two county hospital clinics, all located within a 20-mile radius. However, patients have expressed frustration with the travel required to access these services.
North DeKalb Primary Care's competitive advantage lies in its patient-centered approach. The clinic prioritizes personalized care, allowing for more meaningful interactions during appointments. The founder's shift from corporate healthcare to a more holistic model aims to treat patients not just as numbers but as family, integrating natural remedies with conventional treatments. This community-focused model positions the clinic as a vital resource for local residents in need of accessible healthcare.

Business Plan
We are introducing naturopathic and herbal medicine and we just started weight loss injections and vitamin infusions along with oxygen therapy We have a greatly underserved population here in north DeKalb county Alabama. Since opening the rural clinic. our patient load is growing slowly but we can be of greater service if we had a few more diagnostic tools to add. Most of our clients are on some kind of assistance and cant afford to travel for some of the tests that we can provide in house with the help of some grant money.

Self Identified Competition
1-doctors med care, 2- Northside medical and 3- the county hospital operates 2 different primary care clinics. all of these competitors are within 20 miles but near or in Ft Payne which is the county seat. Many patients voice displeasure about driving to "town" We are different because we understand the needs of our patients, we take time to personalize the care they receive. I left the corporate medical world because I envisioned a clinic where a patient can get a true 15minute appointment with the provider. We also incorporate holistic care with western medicine and counsel our patients on natural treatments and remedies with the prescription meds when needed. Our patients are treated like family.
