Happy Hounds, LLC | Application Preview
Happy Hounds, LLC is seeking government grants to expand its services, aiming to create a comprehensive facility that includes doggy daycare, boarding, self-bathing stations, grooming, and veterinary care. The business, founded in 2022, has seen significant growth in revenue and demand, currently booking appointments months in advance. This success necessitates hiring additional staff to keep pace with client needs.
The application emphasizes the increasing demand for pet services in the area, as existing providers are often booked months ahead and unable to accommodate new clients. Happy Hounds intends to fill this gap by offering a one-stop-shop for all dog-related services, establishing itself as a leader in the community.
In terms of competition, while there are other trainers and service providers, Happy Hounds differentiates itself with superior standards. The business mandates GPS tracking collars for all dogs in its care and provides daily report cards to pet owners, ensuring peace of mind and visibility into their pet's activities and progress.
The company's commitment to safety and well-being includes thorough pre-drop off consultations, vaccination requirements, and diligent health tracking for each dog. Additionally, after completing training courses, Happy Hounds maintains ongoing support for both dogs and their owners, reinforcing skills and fostering successful outcomes.
By securing funding, Happy Hounds aims to build a facility that meets the diverse needs of pet owners, ultimately enhancing their service offerings and expanding into southern Maine if successful.

Funding Usage
I am looking to expand my business to offer doggy daycare, boarding, self-bathing stations, grooming, and vet care. I want to be a one stop shop for every possible dog need! In order to do this, I will need to build out the space I am currently leasing to make it suitable for these varying aspects.

Business Plan
I started Happy Hounds in 2022 and have grown my revenue annually! I have hired another person to train with me and have quickly filled BOTH of our schedules. We are booking months in advance and need to hire another person to keep up with the demand. Beyond that, I'd like to be able to accommodate ALL dog needs - boarding/daycare/grooming/vet care/etc. If this location is successful, I will open a location in southern Maine too! There is a massive need for more pet services in this area! I am constantly hearing from my clients that their daycare is full, their groomer is booked out 4 months in advance, and their vet can't fit them in for months or isn't accepting new patients. People love their pets, want the best for them, and I'd love to be able to fill their needs!

Self Identified Competition
There are a few other trainers in my area who offer similar programs as mine and they are also booking out months in advance. My business standards are slightly higher - my competitors do not require that the dogs in their care wear GPS tracking collars or send daily report cards to owners like I do. I strive to stand out by having a better reputation and better offerings than my competitors! There are also groomers, vets, and doggy daycares in the area who are booked out or over capacity, but there is NOBODY who offers all of these services at once! Not yet anyways. I go above and beyond to ensure my clients are comfortable and their dogs are safe. I require a full profile and consult prior to training. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines prior to drop off. I document every meal and bowel movement as well as track dogs' weight weekly to ensure they stay healthy while in my care. Beyond the regular health & wellbeing of the dog, I also provide the owners with DAILY report cards so that they can see what their dog is learning. It gives the owners to watch the progress, see that their dog is happy, and learn a bit just by observing. After graduation and owner education are complete, we follow up weekly and then monthly as well as meet with the owners/dogs multiple times to ensure the training "sticks" and the dogs remain successful!
