"Score 2" is an enrichment program geared toward the academic success of low-income students and increased employability for their parents. The program offers assistance with passing state standardized tests, access to music and performing arts programs, and job-enrichment support and workshops for parents. The idea is to give each participant the skills needed to seriously compete for scholarships as well as give parents the tools they need for success. In 2018-2019, forty-three percent of the Kindergarten through 12th-grade students in Palm Beach county earned a level 2 or below (nonproficient) on the Florida Standardized tests. Research shows that students from low-income families face the biggest obstacles to academic success. Our parent-enrichment programs help increase parent employability. As the founder of "Score 2," my proven track record of educational gains with the School District of Palm Beach County and success as a Workforce Investment Act counselor for Career Source of Palm Beach County, formally known as Workforce Alliance, will serve as the foundation for student success and parent employability. Meeting these needs within the community will ensure program success. Investing in the education and employability of the low-income population helps break the cycle of poverty.

Self Identified Competition
Currently, Faith's Place and The Sounds of Success Music are the only programs that offer a similar model for my community. They offer afterschool assistance and teach music and performing arts. My program, focuses on students in grades 6 through 12 who need academic assistance and are interested in music and the performing arts. My program will also cater to the parents, by job-enrichment and support.
