C&ALT Audio-Video, LLC | Application Preview
C&ALT Audio-Video, LLC is applying for government grants to support its growth and improve services. The funding will be utilized for expanding the business, hiring additional staff, creating an intern/apprentice program, managing working capital, reducing debt, and purchasing a vehicle.
The business plan emphasizes hiring individuals who may lack initial skills but can be trained through a dedicated program. This approach includes developing an apprenticeship program tailored for youth interested in technology, along with efforts to promote the field to more females and minorities. An expansion into a larger office is planned to better showcase the company's capabilities and provide adequate training space, as well as enhance warehouse facilities. The ultimate goal is to broaden service offerings and extend geographical reach.
The reason for seeking funding stems from over 25 years of experience in the audio-video industry. The founder aims to share insights and opportunities with others, particularly those from minority backgrounds, who may not have access to traditional education but can thrive in a skilled trade. The drive is to cultivate a workforce equipped with technology skills in a growing industry.
In terms of competition, C&ALT faces larger companies that prioritize profits over employee welfare, leading to high turnover and low morale. In contrast, C&ALT's competitive edge lies in its commitment to employee training and support, ensuring project success while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction rather than solely on quantity of projects.

Business Plan
I would like to start by adding additional help as the business grows. Hiring workers that may not initially have the skills at first but by utilizing a training program, I can help them obtain the necessary skillset for the job. Coming up with an apprentice program for younger people interested in the technology field. Help promote the industry to more females and minorities. Expand into a larger office space to enable me to showcase what the company does and also provide a training space. Also improve on warehouse space. Be able to provide more services and broaden the region that I serve. I have been working in the audio-video industry for over 25-years and want to be able to keep helping companies and home owners with understanding technology. Growing up a minority in Boston and not having the opportunities to go to college, I was able to find a trade that I was passionate about that ended up helping me build life skills and enable me to open my own business. I would like to be able to share my experiences with other minorities either female or male find a trade that they can be passionate about and enable them to learn new skills along the way. Not everyone can afford to go to college but being able to be in an industry that is constantly growing and there will always be a demand for workers with the technology skills and background.

Self Identified Competition
My competitors are larger companies that don't care about helping their employees rather they just try to use them as much as they can to achieve a better profit margin. This is why these companies have a larger turn over in employees and why employee moral is usually down. I have worked for many large technology firms and they all end up going down the same path. What makes my company different is that I work closely with my employees out in the field to assist them with learning new skills and guiding them through the steps to make a project successful. Most companies are concerned about profit margins and would rather get as many projects as possible but end up sacrificing quality and customer relationships. My company is focused more on quality and customer satisfaction than the amount of projects that I can do in a year.
