  • Business Plan

I plan on growing my business through advertisement, social media and brand marketing. I plan on being involved in the community, doing popup stands at schools, farmers market, fair and anywhere else I can get in at. By this time next year I want to open a second store in Tulare and a third in Porterville. The following year after that (2026) I plan to open a store in Farmersville, Exeter and Bakersfield. By the year 2029 I plan to be in Fresno, Selma, Merced, parts of Northern and Southern California and possibly in 1 or 2 other states. I am a Hispanic female starting my own business and I’m in need of funding to help make my dreams come true. If I’m awarded a grant, in the amount requested, it would not only help me jump start my business but allow me to be debt free instead of in debt while starting out. Furthermore, this grant will help create at least 4-8 jobs in Tulare County that would otherwise be lost without the grant. My business needs 12-16 employees to operate and if I pull out a loan, I will only be able to hire 8-10 employees.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top 3 competitors are Teaspoon, Mochido and Starbucks. 1. Teaspoons has great drinks with organic cream and real fruit and is an established franchise in California. 2. Mochido also sells milk tea drinks but they aren't quite as good as Teaspoons and they are less healthy for you. However, they sell Mochi donuts and other fried foods that seem to be very popular in the Central Valley. 3. Starbucks - I consider them a competitor because they make great drinks all around. Though they aren't quite known for their milk teas, they are coming out with a line of milk tea drinks and they are a big corporation who's well known. What really makes me different is that I care about what people are consuming, especially kids. I am going use fresh ingredients, loose leaf tea, and less preservatives all around. I plan to compete with all three competitors by going more natural and organic where I can. Serving food and pastries from local vendors and coming up with the best darn tasting drinks that will make people want to come back for more. I also plan to advertise like crazy all over the Central Valley and social media. I am also offering "teatime" which is a very different concept from the rest of these companies. Teatime allows people to enjoy multiple organic teas, for 2 hours in the afternoon while eating pastries and sandwiches with friends and family.
