Slicks Inc 6580454 | Government Grant Application

Slicks Inc | Application Preview

Slicks Inc. is seeking government grant funding to enhance its retail operations and ultimately boost its wholesale side. The business has established partnerships with major retail outlets like SCHEELS and ZUMIEZ, but requires financial support to fully realize its potential. By strengthening the retail presence, Slicks Inc. expects to attract more wholesale clients who are interested in its innovative designs.

The company plans to expand into a larger facility, invest in manufacturing equipment, and build a dedicated team, all while remaining committed to its local community in south central Minnesota.

Slicks Inc. has already gained notable recognition, having worked with high-profile clients, been featured in regional news, and even met the state governor. The founder, at just 28 years old, has demonstrated a strong ability to create opportunities. The grant funding would not only support business growth but also provide access to mentorship.

In terms of competition, Slicks Inc. faces larger companies like Grass Roots California and Electric Family, which outsource their production. The business's competitive advantage lies in its local focus, community support, and a customer-centric approach.

  • Funding Usage

I'd really like help expanding my retail end of my business. I have new and brilliant ideas that I could sell in various retail outlets like SCHEELS and ZUMIEZ as I already put in the work to establish a relationship with these stores and others. The issue is I need more financial support in order to both fund the retail end of my business as well as the wholesale end. The best part is that funding the retail side directly expands my wholesale side as prospective clients see the new designs I make and then ask me to make that for their brand.

  • Business Plan

I'd like to establish myself in a larger building and house my own manufacturing equipment and have my own team of employees. I plan to stay local to south central Minnesota as a way to support my community and keep the money here. I started this business and on day 0 was working with a celebrity brand and a billion-dollar corporation as clients. I've been interviewed on regional multi-state news for both live tv and live radio (MPR). I've turned my work into opportunities where I've even met my state governor. Investing in my business is investing in someone who is only 28 that has a track record of making things happen. The only thing I could use outside of funding is access to more mentors.

  • Self Identified Competition

Grass Roots California - a California clothing manufacturer that outsources from China. Electric Family - a California clothing manufacturer that outsources from China. Both of these brands are significantly bigger than me and have both attempted to rip off my designs and work. I don't really have any other significant competitors to mention. I'm trying to keep things local. I'm always giving back to my community. I'm always focused on bringing value to the customer instead of lining my own pockets.
