Salt Grass Stables 93-2851413 | Government Grant Application

Salt Grass Stables | Application Preview

Salt Grass Stables is seeking government grants to enhance its horse training and care facilities. The requested funding will be used to purchase a round pen for horse training, establish a quarantine stall for health management, and expand free riding lessons for young individuals referred by the local hospital for mental health support. Additional needs include more riding helmets, specialized saddles, and potentially another gentle horse.

The business plan outlines a vision for the next five years aimed at achieving full capacity at the stable, with plans for a waiting list for older horses needing care. Once financially stable, the goal is to expand complimentary lessons for children and enhance the Veterans Program, while also committing to save one additional horse each year in need of specialized care.

Salt Grass Stables differentiates itself from other local boarding facilities by focusing on the specific needs of senior horses and those with medical conditions. The facility provides tailored feeding regimens and specialized care, including supplements and exercise routines, ensuring each horse enjoys a high quality of life in open pastures.

The competition includes local stables like Hope Stables, Oak Park Stables, and Schumacher Stables; however, Salt Grass Stables stands out by specializing in geriatric horse care and offering complimentary rides and lessons for children who would otherwise be unable to afford them. This unique combination of services underscores the importance of the funding request to further enhance their impactful offerings.

Would like to purchase a round pen for training horses, create a quarantine/veterinarian stall for horses with concrete flooring so we can sterilize the floor before and after use and expand our complimentary horse riding lessons. I would love to expand this more but need more helmets, specialized saddles and possibly another gentle horse.

  • Business Plan

Within the next 5 years, I want my facility to be full and have a waiting list of geriatric unicorn that our love and services to live out the remainder of their lives with us. Once the barn is holding its own financially, I want to offer more complimentary lessons to children that would benefit from spending time with horses, grow the Veterans Program and save one additional horse per year that needs our specialized care in their senior years. Our Barn is different than other boarding facilities. We provide the food regimen and specialized care a senior horse needs when they struggle with their teeth, ability to keep weight on, arthritic or if they have health issues that create difficulties in their life. We soak grain morning and night to feed our horses, we give supplements and exercise/stretch horses with muscular or joint issues. We attempt to give each horse at Salt Grass Stables the best life possible and show each horse how a good life should be. Our horses run in open pastures and are able to graze.
