Professional Standard L.L.C. 053876341 | Government Grant Application

Professional Standard L.L.C. | Application Preview

Professional Standard L.L.C. is applying for government grants to secure the initial funding necessary to purchase its first laundromat. This funding will help cover the down payment or good faith deposit and will complement SBA-backed loans aimed at acquiring an existing laundromat.

The business plan focuses on revitalizing a laundromat by enhancing customer experience through improvements like better lighting, potentially offering 24-hour service, installing security cameras, and providing wash-dry-fold services during the day. By implementing local store marketing strategies such as flyers, discount days, and social media outreach, the applicant aims to transform a low-performing laundromat. With 25 years of experience in restaurant management, the applicant possesses skills in turning around struggling businesses.

The applicant brings a wealth of experience in managing operations for profitability and customer growth, currently overseeing a $15 million annual revenue restaurant portfolio. Their qualifications include a Diploma in Accounting and Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Management, equipping them for success in small business ownership.

In terms of competition, the laundromat market in the Dallas Fort Worth area consists primarily of single-location, privately owned businesses that often lack marketing efforts. Many competitors rely on proximity to housing and fail to enhance their offerings in service, security, and maintenance. The applicant intends to differentiate their laundromat by providing superior services that have been successful in their restaurant career.

The competitive advantage lies in the applicant's extensive experience in the industry, having progressed from a line cook to a multi-unit operator. This background has instilled a deep understanding of customer service and operational efficiency, leveraging the principle of serving customers well to drive profitability. The applicant has built lasting relationships with customers over the years, emphasizing a commitment to creating a welcoming environment that encourages community loyalty.

  • Business Plan

I seek to purchase the first laundromat, and depending on the location, increase the walk in business through adding better lighting, possibly 24-hour service, security cameras and police call boxes, as well as wash-dry-fold service in day hours. All of these services typically are overlooked in majority of small laundromat businesses, creating a devalued experience. Along with local store marketing through flyers, discount days and social media coverage, I plan to take a low performing laundromat and turn it around. My 25 years restaurant management experience has taught me proven principles of business turnarounds. I have twenty five years of career experience in managing businesses for profitability and customer count growth, at low, medium and high volume restaurant companies. I am currently a multi-unit restaurant director, managing a restaurant portfolio of 15 million dollars annual revenue. I have obtained a Diploma in Accounting, a Master's Degree in Business Administration, as well as a Master's Degree in Management to aid in my education for owning and operating successful small businesses.

  • Self Identified Competition

Depending on the location, competitors vary; but in the Dallas Fort Worth market, most laundromats are single location, privately owned businesses. Little marketing is done for the sample of laundromats I have studied, in Dallas, Irving, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Fort Worth. Most rely on proximity to apartment housing and less competition to stay in business. Few have upgraded their offerings of service, security, maintenance and cleanliness to truly court business to their locations. I will offer these in superior fashion, as I have in my current industry, for the last 25 years. The life of the business is found in the soul of the operator. I have proven myself for the last quarter of a century, beginning as a line cook, working through every facet of guest service, managing costs, ensuring continuing business growth, becoming a multi unit operator today. I am where I am today in my career because I have learned how to operate a business to serve my customers in a superior fashion; to operate with the golden rule in mind, ensure profitability, while maintaining the best possible experience for my customers. I have established long term regulars in the communities my restaurants serve, who now bring in their children and grandchildren to enjoy the businesses I manage.
