SimplySamStitches Crochet | Application Preview
SimplySamStitches Crochet is seeking government grants to support the expansion of their handmade crochet business. The funds will be used to secure a small retail space for selling products, enhance their social media presence, enroll in skill-building classes, and hire an employee to manage shipping logistics. Future equipment upgrades are also planned.
The business strategy includes hosting social media events and participating in local and out-of-state craft fairs. The owner intends to network with other artisans to learn from their success and promote their brand through collaborations with clients who showcase their crochet items.
The application emphasizes the owner's dedication, strong work ethic, and early profitability despite just starting out. They have established a website, advertising platforms, and plan to feature their products on Amazon Handmade. The business also aims to create a supplemental income due to the owner's disability, with the potential for generating wealth.
Competition is minimal, primarily consisting of other crafters, and the unique nature of crochet, being intrinsically handmade, gives SimplySamStitches a competitive edge in the market.

Business Plan
I plan on hosting more events on social media and also doing craft fairs locally and out of state. I also will devote time to networking with other artists and find out how they have been successful. Also I will promote my brand with clients who may feature my items at their locations. I’m a hard worker and very devoted to my art. I give 100 percent and expect a return on my investments. I’m operating at a profit which is a plus because I’m just starting out. I also have specialty commission orders and product to market. I’ve created a website and a couple platforms for advertising. I hope to be on Amazon handmade soon with the assistance of this grant. Although I’m disabled my craft will supplement my household and I hope will generate wealth.
-
Self Identified Competition
I really don’t have any other than my fellow crafters. What I do can’t be replicated on a machine. Crochet is an art form that can only be done by another handmade crafter like myself. That’s my niche.
