Valley Community Center | Application Preview
Valley Community Center seeks government grants totaling $145,000 for critical infrastructure repairs. This funding would address approximately $130,000 in roof repairs due to damage from frozen water in December 2022, and $15,000 to replace an outdated HVAC unit that serves one of the Center's commercial tenants.
The Center aims to expand its operations over the next five years by enhancing local advertising, growing membership, introducing new events and services, increasing grant funding and donations, and optimizing costs associated with ongoing maintenance and repairs. With an annual visitor count exceeding 43,000, the Center is dedicated to serving seniors, low-income residents, and veterans.
Approval of funding is warranted because the Center has a long-standing history of providing essential services, including affordable meals, frozen meal programs, free food and produce, and various health and social activities. As a registered 501c-3 organization, the Center has been a cornerstone of community support for over 36 years without financial backing from state or federal sources.
The Center faces minimal competition from two other local senior centers, one of which is smaller and aging. Its extensive experience and established reputation give it a significant competitive advantage in delivering vital services to the community.
