Bay Area Pawsitive Support 99-4165582 | Government Grant Application

Bay Area Pawsitive Support | Application Preview

Bay Area Pawsitive Support is seeking government grants to fund the establishment of a no-kill animal shelter and various educational programs focused on animal care and welfare. The organization plans to build this shelter on donated land, in partnership with two other local nonprofits, to benefit both animals and the community of Palacios, Texas. Their initiatives include providing basic animal care, organizing dog-walking and adoption events, offering educational workshops for children, and implementing spay/neuter and TNR programs.

The business plan outlines a commitment to reduce pet euthanasia rates while empowering residents with knowledge about responsible pet ownership. By investing in this project, funders will help create a safe haven for animals and a resource for community education. The organization emphasizes collaboration with other nonprofits rather than viewing them as competition, aiming to pioneer a no-kill shelter in Palacios and foster a compassionate environment for pets and their families.

Bay Area Pawsitive Support highlights the resilience of the low-income community, which has faced challenges like hurricanes but remains dedicated to creating lasting change. The organization's focus is on meeting the unique needs of the community while enhancing the well-being of animals and the families who care for them, ultimately seeking to leave a positive, generational impact.

  • Business Plan

Over the next five years, our plan is to build a no-kill shelter on the land that has been generously donated to us. This project is a collaboration between three local nonprofits, all working together with the community to make a lasting impact. Our vision includes creating a child-centered space for educational workshops where children can interact with dogs and cats, learning about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. We are committed to promoting community education on animal care and welfare issues, while working to reduce the high rates of pet euthanasia in Texas. Through this initiative, we aim to not only provide shelter for animals in need but also empower our community with the knowledge and resources to ensure a compassionate future for all pets. Investing in our project is an opportunity to support a community that is deeply committed to making a meaningful impact. We have strong community support, and we are working closely with two other nonprofit organizations to create a sustainable, positive change. Palacios is a low-income community, but what we may lack in resources, we make up for with resilience and determination. We have land generously donated for a no-kill shelter, but due to the impact of several hurricanes over the years, and our financial challenges, we currently lack the necessary resources to move forward. With your investment, we can transform this land into a safe haven for animals and a place of hope for our community. This is more than just a shelter—it’s a long-term investment in the well-being of our families, children, and animals, and it will create lasting change for generations to come.

  • Self Identified Competition

I do not view other organizations as competitors. Instead, I see us as pioneers—working together to create something truly meaningful for our community. As the first no-kill shelter in the history of Palacios, we are committed to building a future where every animal is treated with dignity and care. Our community is struggling, but we are resilient, and we are united in our mission. Together, we are working to make history by creating long-lasting change for both our animals and the families who love them. While we deeply respect and appreciate the efforts of other organizations applying for assistance, our focus is solely on the needs of our community's animals and the broader social impact we can make together. Palacios is a loving, tight-knit community with a strong bond to our animals, but we face economic challenges that make it difficult to provide the care and support they need. Our priority is to create lasting, positive change for the children, families, and animals in our community, with the help of your generous support. We are committed to making history through impactful programs that address both basic animal care and the broader educational and social benefits that these programs can bring to our residents
