Hairapy 101 Studio | Application Preview
Hairapy 101 Studio is seeking government funding to transition from a salon suite to a storefront location. The funds will cover initial rent, plumbing for a shampoo bowl, a water heater, and new flooring.
The studio aims to become a full-service salon that prioritizes sensory safety, specifically catering to individuals with autism, neuro sensitivities, and other disabilities. With six years of business experience and consistent growth, the owner has recently become certified as a sensory safe stylist. The long-term vision includes providing sensory safe training to other stylists, salons, and cosmetology schools, as well as forming partnerships with autism programs and schools.
The funding is justified by the unique service Hairapy 101 will offer, as there are currently no other salons focused on sensory safe experiences. With the rising prevalence of autism diagnoses, there's a critical need for trained professionals who can accommodate the specific needs of individuals with disabilities.
In terms of competition, Hairapy 101 would be the first salon of its kind. The owner is uniquely qualified, with 20 years of styling experience, a background as a patient care technician, and personal experience as a parent to a child with special needs. This expertise allows for customized care and service adaptations, creating a welcoming environment for all clients.

Business Plan
I want to open a full service salon that is sensory safe and focuses on specializing in hair services for people with autism, neuro sensitivities and other disabilities. I have been in business for 6 years and have been showing growth every year. I recently got certified to be a sensory safe stylist. I plan on growing by becoming an educator to provide sensory safe training to stylist, salons and cosmetology schools. Connecting with autism schools and other autism, cerebral palsey programs. There are no other salons like this. There is a huge need for sensory safe salons with the rising diagnosis of autism. People with disabilities need to be able to go into a salon and receive services by stylist who are trained to have knowledge to work with their specific needs.

Self Identified Competition
There are NO salons who offer this service. I would be the first. I have been certified as a sensory safe stylist through the Sensory Safe solution non profit organization. Currently there are 16 stylist in the state of Az who are on the registry, but non of them are in a store front salon. I have been a stylist for 20 years, worked as a PCT in the hospital for 4 years prior to being a stylist and have a daughter with special needs. I know how to work with all disabilities, can adjust wheelchairs and manipulate shampoo bowls so I can accommodate anyone.
