My Fehr Lady LLC 99-2584874 | Government Grant Application

My Fehr Lady LLC | Application Preview

My Fehr Lady LLC is applying for a government grant to support its business operations and growth. The requested funds would be used to cover rent and vendor payments due to lower-than-expected foot traffic in Q1, as well as to establish an advertising budget to increase local awareness and expedite business growth.

The company has already launched an online presence through a website and social media platforms, with efforts to expand its reach nationwide via online orders. Locally, the business aims to attract more foot traffic through targeted advertising in magazines, news sources, Facebook campaigns, and improved storefront signage. Networking efforts include attending Chamber of Commerce events and participating in Downtown Billings activities.

Approval of the grant would support a business that has been well-received by local women, particularly those seeking professional workwear options beyond Dillard's. With financial support, the business owner plans to create part-time job opportunities for college students once the store becomes self-sustaining.

My Fehr Lady LLC differentiates itself from local competitors by focusing on professional women’s workwear, offering an Ann Taylor or Ralph Lauren aesthetic. Competing boutiques primarily cater to casual, retired, or Western-style shoppers. This niche positioning fills a gap in the market, providing working professionals with a boutique alternative to mainstream department stores or online shopping.

  • Funding Usage

This would be used toward paying my rent and vendors for the next several months. Q1 did not bring in enough foot traffic to cover these expenses for the coming months. I would also like to have an advertising budget to expedite the awareness of my new business so I can give the organic growth of foot traffic more of a catalyst.

  • Business Plan

I have launched a website and am present on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. I plan to further develop my online presence for increased web orders across the nation, and not just local foot traffic. I have extensively been adhering to SEO trainings. I do plan to target the local foot traffic as well. I am trying to build an advertising budget so I can start promoting in local magazine/news sources, Facebook campaigns and better exterior signage. I have also been personally attending Chamber events for networking purposes, and joining in Downtown Billings activities such as the Downtown Calendar that is emailed and have extended store hours for the Art Walk and have previously hosted an artist for this event as well. I have already received so much feedback from the Billings local women how much my store is needed in this city. I offer a wide range of work-wear that is available anywhere other than Dillard's, and they have been so excited to shop for the office at a boutique instead. Additionally, with the appropriate financial kick-start to my business, I want to create more jobs. Once the store becomes more self-sustaining, I would love to hire college girls and create several part-time positions. I would want investors to invest with me because I am already filling a void in the community and have hopes of creating jobs and boosting the economy.

  • Self Identified Competition

SomethingChic Cricket Clothing Montana Dress Company Although we are geographical neighbors and all women's clothing boutiques, I am very different from these stores. SomethingChic predominantly offers trendy and casual looks; Cricket Clothing appeals to the retired demographics; and Montana Dress Company simultaneously offers Western Wear and prom dresses. I have cultivated a professional dress-wear vibe (although with loungewear and accessories also available), presenting the Ann Taylor or Ralph Lauren aesthetic. I give the professional working woman in hr 20s-50s a shopping option other than Dillard's or online.
