  • Business Plan

We plan to scale the Pinpoint business by aiming to understand our target market and providing access to valuable customers that are essential to the entrepreneurs on Pinpoint. Pinpoint is a financial ecosystem that will enhance & totally change the way entrepreneurs interact with their customer base. Pinpoint has identified a major problem amongst college students and student business owners. Pinpoint was created in order to make moving to a new city and school an easier and more comfortable transition. All while promoting entrepreneurship for student business owners. From studies Pinpoint has done and reviewing scholarly articles, we have found that a majority of current students are looking for ways to increase the amount of disposable income they have. Pinpoint has created a system that is easily replicable across any campus in America. By utilizing the Pinpoint platform, entrepreneurs & student entrepreneurs can promote their services & products in a more direct way to gain clientele. Pinpoint plans to grow by first showing proof of concept at the Ohio State University (OSU) and then expanding to other universities in Ohio. We are in the beginning stages of discussions with OSU. We have begun talks with OSU and believe we can help students. Pinpoint will launch its app and website at OSU. Working with OSU students and the City of Columbus business community will allow the Pinpoint app and website to be refined as well as a scaling formula to be developed that can be applied to other universities. Once success is achieved at OSU, Pinpoint will expand to other universities in Ohio and other states. Pinpoint expects that it will take at least 1-2 semesters to achieve a sustainable foundation at OSU. Every year after, Pinpoint expects to add two to six main universities to the platform annually and create sustainable growth in a state before moving to the next. Pinpoint is an innovative tech company that is dedicated to building a platform that serves three targeted groups: university students seeking local services, supporting small, local businesses and aiding university students that desire to become entrepreneurs. Investors should invest in Pinpoint because it has identified an economic need in academia that helps students. Two critical economic drivers that we believe investors care about and we are looking to alleviate are lack of start-up exposure & capital and increased economic activity in communities. Not only will investing in Pinpoint benefit entrepreneurs it will benefit each state we operate in to improve the economic standard of living for not only students but for the entire population. Pinpoint is getting rid of the long, tedious task of scouring the internet for fundamental services, which is needed on campuses across the nation. Additionally, Pinpoint will encourage student entrepreneurs to master and capitalize on their own skills, creating an environment conducive to developing eager business owners.

  • Self Identified Competition

Booksy seems to be the most relatable competitor to Pinpoint. Booksy is a booking app for multiple entrepreneurs. They do not have a targeted business audience but instead allow any business to register. Any entrepreneur can utilize the platform. Square is a competitor to Pinpoint because they not only allow people to use their platform to run their own business, but they also have a simple way of taking payments. This platform is convenient for the business owner as well as the customer. Square is a major payment processor that has been able to create a simplified payment process for entrepreneurs. Style seat is a platform that allows service providers to schedule their clientele. While their focus is beauty and wellness, they are similar to Pinpoint because Style seat allows users to showcase their work and connect with others. What separates Pinpoint from these competitors is that Pinpoint is an app that puts a major emphasis on students. Our main difference is our access to the student population and nurturing student entrepreneurs during and after college life. The owners of Pinpoint are all newly graduated students so we have an understanding “ear to the streets” of what our target market would like out of an application. Pinpoint will acclimate students to their new environment but also help develop their business skills. While not everyone would like to receive work from students, we have made a system where established business owners can have direct access to thousands of students on campus. Pinpoint has also created a financial ecosystem that strategically enhances entrepreneurs' customer base and helps customers find them easier. Our financial ecosystem is multi-faceted in the way that it is beneficial to all users of the Pinpoint platform. Pinpoint focuses on developing our main customers -the entrepreneurs- & provides an affordable way for them to promote their businesses. We give customers an easier way to find entrepreneurs in a city that they’re not familiar with and need services done soon.
