Business Plan
1. Growing and selling specialty crops and herbs. 2. Teaching and educating needy families about growing small gardens in their yards or communities. 3. Producing and distributing goat milk soaps and lotions. 4. Selling lavender, wild lettuce, chamomile and many other herbal tinctures, teas and balms. We will do this locally and online on our website and an Etsy shop. 5. Crop co-ops. 6. Selling crops, meats, eggs and herbs to restaurants serving local farm grown food options. I, Heather Cavender, started in 2009 handing out small food bags to people living on the streets. I was a single mother with very little money but a very big heart. It was myself, my teenage children and my parents. We did not have much but we gave as much as we could. That grew into a non profit organization where we have fed over 20,000 people, given away thousands of bags of clothes that we collected from donors. Created and hosted over 100 community outreach events where we provided food, clothes, HIV testing, transported drug addicts to treatment and detox centers. Provided resource stations for other community programs. We developed relationships that we still have with many of those people today. We do huge Christmas toy collection and distributing yearly, over 100,000 brand new toys have been given to needy families since 2011. We help battered women and their children find safety. We help single mothers keep their light on among many other services for their families. We help veterans with PTSD acquire mental health services. We help young adults and teenagers who are suicidal in multiple ways, one of which is the national suicide prevention association. This farm will allow us to do all that we do an a much larger scale and help so many more individuals who fall through the cracks. We will be providing healthy food, healthy environments as well as teaching life skills and trades to hurting people.

Self Identified Competition
I honestly don’t know of anyone in our area doing what we are planning to do. It’s an untapped market. There are many farms but none that I have found that plan to do or are doing what we will be doing in a 100 mile radius each direction of our property. We will be growing specialty crops and teaching underprivileged families to do the same. This will create a ripple effect and expand healthy food options that people can afford. It was also teach lost arts such as canning, learning medicinal plants and how to harvest and make products from them. Our goat milk products such as soaps, lotions and balms are in high demand with very few local farms offering them. We will focus on mind, body and soul and the fruits of our labor will show it, financially as well as giving broken people a purpose and becoming productive members of society.
