Leitner’s Garage LLC 20221012998 | Government Grant Application

Leitner’s Garage LLC | Application Preview

Leitner’s Garage LLC is seeking government grants to fund the purchase of essential equipment: an additional vehicle lift, an alignment machine, and an A/C machine. The lack of these machines has constrained their service capabilities.

The business has successfully established its shop in the first year, focusing on building its presence within the local community of Dacono, Firestone, and Frederick. Leitner’s Garage aims to bring back affordable automotive services and a personal touch, reminiscent of a time when vehicle repairs were more accessible and relationships with mechanics were close-knit. They plan to attract customers through service discounts, active social media engagement, and educational automotive courses for teens and young adults, leveraging over 25 years of experience to build community trust.

Owners Travis and Deanna Leitner, parents of four daughters, understand the high costs of automotive service at dealerships. Their goal is to provide affordable options that allow families to save money. Travis’s dream of becoming his own boss was motivated by a desire to balance work and family life, enabling him to attend important family events.

In terms of competition, they recognize local businesses such as Christian Brothers Automotive, R&D Automotive Repair, and Joe-lopy's Mobile Automotive Repair. However, Leitner’s Garage sets itself apart through its unique family-oriented approach and low overhead costs, as they operate from their home on a spacious property, avoiding the expenses of renting commercial space. By fostering personal connections with customers and maintaining a genuine community presence over the last two decades, they strive to create a trustworthy and inviting service environment.

  • Business Plan

We spent the first year funding the building of the shop and installation of the lift for the shop. Now that we are up and running with our small family owned business we will be marketing to our Dacono, Firestone and Frederick neighbors. We will be utilizing our small town atmosphere to take automotive diagnosis and servicing back to when it was not so expensive to fix the family vehicle and you knew the name of your mechanic! We will be offering discounts on services to drum up business, utilizing social media to keep our name out in the public, offering automotive 101 courses for teens and young adults and utilizing our 25+ years experience to gain to trust of the community. Leitner’s Garage is owned by Travis and Deanna Leitner who are parents to four daughters ranging from 20 - 3 years in age. We know firsthand the outrageous cost associated with servicing your vehicle at a local dealership. We are offering services at less cost so families can use their savings to better help their families. We decided years ago that Travis would pursue his dream of becoming his own boss so that he wasn’t working and missing time with his family to put money in someone else’s pocket. Not only do we get the ability to save people money that they can use for their own families, Travis gets the flexibility of being his own boss so he can better balance his work and life.

  • Self Identified Competition

Listed because they’re in the area— Christian Brothers Automotive R&D Automotive Repair Joe-lopy's Mobile Automotive Repair Initially a dream of a father to be able to do what he does best to make money while having the flexibility of being his own boss so that he never missed another soccer game, choir concert or team dinner. Such luxuries do not exist in the industry as most have rotating schedules requiring weekend work and odd days off. We wanted to create a place where people could get their cars worked on with someone they can trust and not leave in sticker shock due to repair costs. Leitner’s garage is not commercialized or a chain. We purchased a home in 2020 that had a little over an acre which would give us enough space to build a shop where Travis could perform automotive diagnosis and repair. We do not have the added overhead of renting a space to do such work nor do we have a large team of mechanics and as a result, we are able to keep our costs low. In addition, when people come to get their car serviced at Leitner’s Garage, they come to our home. We have been in Firestone for almost 20 years. We are part of the community and want to know everyone by name!
