Funding Usage
When awarded the funding, I would use it to expand the business in the form of a food truck as well as equipment upgrades for the current location. This would give us an improved back line in the deli that would allow more streamlined service for our walk-in and take-out customers to maintain the same quality we are currently delivering but at a faster turnaround time.

Business Plan
In the span of the next five years, I intend to put a Jay's Deli food truck into service to allow customers in the surrounding small towns an opportunity to experience our menu. This would allow further growth of our customer base without the unnecessary overhead of a restaurant in an area without much pass-thru traffic outside of work hours. Also, I have recently been approached about opening a Jay's Deli location in the City of Des Moines which would allow a franchise opportunity and growth in a major metropolitan area that is constantly craving "new" and "local" cuisine. Jay's Deli is not just about the dollar signs to me but how to keep it profitable and sustainable while offering the continuous quality menu products we have to an ever-expanding customer base. By investing in Jay's Deli you are not just investing simply in a restaurant, but investing in a "flagship" restaurant that aspires to grow into something great and memorable across the country. Five years from now, investors would be able to look back and say that they had a hand in helping grow what is fast turning into one of the best and most highly rated restaurants, currently, in the State of Iowa.

Currently, in the City of Grinnell where Jay's Deli is based, our top competitors are: (1) Subway (2) Jimmy Johns (3) Comeback Cafe What makes Jay's Deli stand out from my competitors is the menu. We have a menu that is extremely unique with artisan homemade grilled cheese sandwiches and sides that people can also customize if they so choose. Also, Back Alley Deli was a Deli that sat in Jay's Deli's current location for thirty-plus years that was a community staple as well as bringing in customers from the surrounding communities until it closed due to retirement in 2010. Opening our current, and flagship Jay's Deli in this location has been crucial to our growth due to the central location and the history involved in the community. If you look at our current reviews, we are currently the most highly-rated restaurant in town which we take very seriously and intend to keep that momentum up as growth finds us.
