Business Plan
I have been a part of an established pottery business since my recent layoff, and want to continue supporting my local community as well as open and expand this art discipline to more diverse communities. I plan to take the best practices that I have gained within this pottery studio and improve upon them in the following ways: -expansion to digital storefront, improving ease of access and transparency regarding stock and services -more robust social media presence, to not only announce our existence to the communities that I am trying to reach, but to reinforce the mission to educate as well as create a space for all artists As an artist, I know that the value of art and being able to pursue it in its many forms should be an option for my community. In my tenure at my local business, I see the continued need for traditional pottery making. Simply put, there is a need for this type of business in the art community, as there are very little hubs that can provide kiln firing, classes, and a space for creators to simply come together. As a POC, I see next to no representation in said community, and not only want to open up the business to more diverse communities, I would like to help ensure that it is an art form that is embraced by future generations to come as well. Everyone deserves the chance to be what they were meant to be when they grow up.

Trinity Ceramic Supply- Dallas TX White Rock Pottery-Dallas TX Quiggly's Clayhouse- Richardson, TX The above competitors have a niche group that they serve, or are far from the area. that I plan to service. Trinity Ceramic supply is focused primarily on clay manufacturing, and don't have front facing customer services. White Rock pottery has a more front facing customer space, but exclusively services experienced potters, and has no offerings for beginners. With my pottery. service, I cater to beginner level to expert level potters, as well as offer services that they cannot find anywhere else, including kiln firing, and off site training for groups, including schools, corporations, and anywhere in between.
