Granbury Massage and Wellness | Application Preview
Granbury Massage and Wellness is seeking government funding to expand its small medical massage clinic, which is currently experiencing high demand and is booked a month in advance. The owner, a woman with a disability, aims to hire additional licensed massage therapists (LMTs) to address the growing needs of clients suffering from chronic pain who cannot be accommodated promptly.
The business plan includes training new LMTs in specialized pain-relieving techniques and integrating naturopathic health principles, as the owner is studying in this field. This expansion will allow the clinic to provide more immediate relief to clients and enhance their ability to engage productively in their personal and professional lives. The owner envisions introducing health supplements and classes focused on promoting lifestyle changes that support better health management.
The application highlights the difference between Granbury Massage and its competitors, which primarily provide relaxation services such as spa treatments. Granbury Massage focuses on medical massage aimed specifically at relieving pain and addressing its underlying causes. The clinic prides itself on accommodating clients' needs, often allowing treatments while fully clothed, and offering flexible session durations.
The owner emphasizes that this funding is not for personal gain but for the greater good of clients who deserve to live their best lives free from pain. By expanding the clinic, the owner believes it will not only benefit individuals but also contribute positively to the workforce and the economy.

Funding Usage
I am a small medical massage clinic that is currently booked out for a month at a time. I have one LMT working with me and am planning on hiring 2-3 more to keep from having to send people away hurting who need immediate help with chronic pain. To do this I need to expand my clinic and add rooms to accommodate them. This is what I am asking for funding for. I am a woman-owned business and I have a disability as well. It will benefit, not myself but all of those whom we are having to send away because we are so booked we can not help them immediately with their chronic pain which keeps them from being productive in their lives and occupations to serve others. It would help the workforce if they were able to work because their pain is being managed and relieved.

Business Plan
I am currently in school studying naturopathic Health. I am a Certified Naturopathic Health Professional or CNHP. My plan is to hire a few more LMTs and train them to do the pain-relieving bodywork that I do to release and manage chronic pain. I want to use my certification to also help people heal from the inside out to also help manage their pain as well as their illnesses. More and more people are turning to alternative or natural medicine for help and I have the ability to help them naturally. I want to also eventually add a line of health supplements as well as health classes to teach people how to manage their health through healthy lifestyle changes. By helping me to expand this clinic you will be investing in the future of each client who walks through my door for help. They come here because they are hurt and sick and can't understand why their doctors can't help them. My clinic has been creating miracles in the lives of many of these people and it brings my heart joy to see them rejoicing and living a better life after they have been treated here. By helping me you are investing in the economy. These otherwise hurting people will be better able to do their jobs if they are not in pain. We treat almost all forms of body pain, weight loss, and healthy lifestyle changes, and when this happens their lives change for the better leaving them better able to cope with life and perform their jobs better to help serve the economy. I am inviting you to be a part of all this. My heart is for the healing of all people. I really hate to see people living a life other than their best. I am not looking for a handout for myself but for the benefit of others. If I can expand my clinic to create more of what I have been doing, then more people will have the chance to be more productive in their lives and this brings me joy.

Self Identified Competition
Most of my competitors are spas or salons that do fluffy buffy massages and body wraps and scrubs as well as facials. While all of them are good at stress relief and relaxation we focus on the pain. If someone wants stress relief or facials we will send them to a spa or salon. We do refer out occasionally. Here, we are medical massage therapists that focus on pain and wellness and we treat the underlying causes of that so that it doesn't return we also teach our clients how to manage it when and if it does. While our competitors are having their clients strip down for a massage, we don't require them to on most occasions because most of our treatments can be done fully clothed and our clients appreciate that. We work on trouble or painful areas and our sessions can run from 20 minutes to 2 hours in length depending on the situation and the need of the client.
