Funding Usage
I would like to use this funding to help expand my business. As a veteran owned company and I am 90% disabled. I opened this business to help veterans and hire veterans, so they have a place after their service time. I would like to use some of the money to buy homes to flip and make them ready for veterans with disabilities. I would also like to be able to fix up homes on a lower income level so younger Marines and their family can purchase that first home without breaking the bank. If my company is able to receive this grant, I want to give back to my fellow military family and help them out as much as possible. I am not done serving yet, but I want to be able to help serve my fellow veterans.

Business Plan
I would like to be able to purchase work trucks to help my employees with materials they need for their jobs. Having work trucks will also help me expand my area of service. I want to expand my marketing budget to reach a larger market of people and a wider service area as well. I also want to expand in flipping homes so this will be another way to employee more veterans. I feel this is a great way to have a positive flow of cash coming in and we can help other veterans this way. When I started my business, my wife and I took a loan out plus put a lot of our own money into the business. I retired after 20 years of service and I felt that if I was going to open a business I would want to help other veterans and hire a majority of veterans. To this day, I have hired someone from every branch of the service and 90 percent of my employees are either veterans or are service connected. I have one craftsman's wife who is in the Marine Corps and another employee who has had two sons in the Marines with one still in the Marines. This is my goal and passion to help veterans. I have looked and tried to find grants to help me with my vision but have not been able to find any grants. I always have people ask why I want to help veterans so much when you are a veteran and have been to combat many times. I tell them in return, because I am still able and I came home in one piece. I still owe these veterans who cannot do for themselves or want to, but no one will give them a chance. That is why I am here, I am there chance, I still care and want to help them.

Self Identified Competition
One company is HomeWorks out of Hubert, NC. They are a small company with one store and they also do a lot of the same style of jobs that we do. They will come in, complete honey do lists, repair windows and doors. They will also do floors if you need them done. The other company is Work Horse and they are a small company as well and they do more drywall, painting, and floor jobs. The last one, which is the biggest one, is Southern Touch Painting. They are the largest but mostly deal with big paint projects and commercial projects. They do bigger remodeling projects but will not do the smaller jobs. There are a few things that make me different than my competitors. One I have a one-year warranty on our work. If something doesn't look right or happens within a year we will come back out and fix the problem no charge. As I have mentioned we are veteran owned and operated. We want to help our veterans as much as we can. I also have sponsored the Onslow County Police Department fundraisers for the last two years. We want to give back to our community and be part of the community. My wife is currently a teacher at the local high school, so community is very important to us.
