specialized services 176517796 | Government Grant Application

specialized services | Application Preview

The business is seeking government grants to support the addition of a powder coating line, aiming to diversify its services and create local job opportunities. The proposal includes expanding into powder coating and drive shaft repair, responding to existing market demand.

Key reasons for funding approval include the business being majority woman-owned, its track record of success, and its commitment to job creation in a low-income area. The local market lacks competition in these service areas, with the nearest facility located in Bend, Oregon, which currently struggles to meet demand.

The business positions itself favorably in a growing community, emphasizing the need for expansion despite limited financial resources. The application highlights that a grant would be more beneficial than a loan, given that the return on investment may be gradual. The focus is on long-term community growth and sustainability following the initial expansion.

  • Funding Usage

We are looking to diversify and add a powder coating line to our existing business and create local jobs with this expansion.

  • Business Plan

Add additional services such as powder coating and drive shaft repair as demand for these services already exists in the local market. I think a few things potentially make our business attractive are that it is majority owned by a woman, we also have previous success in business which helps our chance of successful outcome, we are in a growing community that needs jobs, we are also a low-income area and our goal is to provide reasonable wage to employees.

  • Self Identified Competition

Locally we don't have competition in our desired areas of expansion. The nearest powder coating facility is in Bend Oregon and has more business than it can handle. As mentioned in the previous section, we don't have local competition, but what sets us apart from our nearest competitor is that we are in an up-and-coming community. There is both room and a need for growth but the limited working capital of being in a small community makes it hard to expand without help this also means that the ROI will be slow and this is why a grant would be preferred over a loan. We are focused on the long-term benefits to the community of business expansion and would like to continually grow after the initial expansion.
