Lafayette County Dental Clinic, INC. | Application Preview
Lafayette County Dental Clinic, INC. is applying for government grants to establish dental care in a region that has been without a dentist since 2004. The funds will be used to renovate and equip a dental facility, addressing a significant void in local healthcare access.
The initial business plan includes operating the clinic two days a month, with an expectation of serving 25 patients per visit, totaling around 300 children over the grant period. The lead dentist plans to relocate back to the community, where they were born and raised, to provide this essential service.
The clinic’s objective is to enhance access to dental care for families in Lafayette County and surrounding areas, particularly for children. The requested funding would facilitate the purchase of necessary equipment like dental chairs and cabinetry, which are crucial for offering care.
Currently, there is no dental competition in the area, making this clinic unique. The applicant also emphasizes a personal connection to the community, which they believe gives them a competitive advantage in establishing the practice and attracting local patients.

Business Plan
We plan to open 2 days a month to start, estimating 25 patients seen during that time, which would be 300 children over the grant period. The reason the clinic will only be open is because I am the Arkansas Licensed dentist that will be lead dentist at the clinic. Currently I am not located in the state, but plan to relocate back. As a product of this community, because I was born and raised there, I can grow the business. Lafayette County Dental Clinic’s application seeks to provide access to dental care to families of the county and surrounding areas, especially the children. This grant can help purchase equipment, such as chairs, dental cabinetry, and supplies, whose absence is detrimental to providing this care. Access to dental care in Lafayette County is a problem. The entire Lafayette County has not had a dental provider since 2004, which makes access to dental care a barrier for many. Part of my organization’s mission is to increase access to dental care
-
Self Identified Competition
There are no other dental competitors in the area as to there is no dentist in Lafayette County. We will be the only dental office in the county. I am home grown in this community. I was born in the hospital in Lewisville and grew up in the community. Not many health professionals will come back to the community they grew up in especially a rural community with a population of 1200 people or so.
