Key Publishing Company Key Publishing Company | Government Grant Application

Key Publishing Company | Application Preview

Key Publishing Company is seeking government grants to support various expenses, including writing and publishing costs, advertising, website administration, and marketing efforts. They also aim to hire an assistant to help secure speaking contracts and manage printing costs.

The business began when the founder was invited to speak at the University of Rhode Island, where their motivational talks to students transformed into the first of six books. The latest book serves as a job guide for college juniors and seniors, and there are plans to expand outreach to more colleges. The series, titled "How To Live Forever," targets 76 million Baby Boomers, encouraging them to document and publish family histories as eBooks on platforms like Kindle/Amazon.

The application highlights the need for funding by emphasizing that while notable figures may have their stories told, the average person often does not. The founder intends to market their services to both Baby Boomers and college students, identifying these demographics as lucrative markets that also fulfill significant needs.

In terms of competition, the business notes a lack of similar offerings in the market and highlights that their focus is on relatable storytelling rather than literary masterpieces. The founder's extensive life experiences and willingness to share personal insights provide a competitive advantage, enabling them to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.

  • Business Plan

I began writing after a request by URI to spend a a day at the college speaking to juniors and seniors to provide a "spark" to help them find jobs during and after the '09 Economic Collapse and a sinking job market. My "talks" evolved into a book which the school purchased. My most recent book (of 6) is designed as a type of job guide targeted to college Juniors and seniors, I hope to add more colleges (I did also have Goodwin University sponsor a book) All six of my books fall under my "How To Live Forever Series" target to 76 million Baby Boomers, suggesting and showing them how to write down a piece of their or their family history and publishing for FREE as an eBook on Kindle/Amazon thereby preserving it FOREVER. If your a president or a monarch someone will write a bout you. The rest of us? Nope! We need to do it ourselves. I plan on engage with and selling my services to this huge historic group. I plan on marketing to College students another huge market. These markets should produce good revenue and at the same time I will be filling a some needs from both hughe groups.

  • Self Identified Competition

So far I haven't found any business doing exactly what I am. I'm not writing literary works of art and I am not I trying to get those target markets to either. I'm speaking of a story you might verbally relate to your neighbor particularly a story that can teach to our younger generations. I do this as one of the themes in all my stories which these target market books can use(buy) as examples. I have had an unusually large amount of life experiences and jobs. I have been very succesfull considering that I started out very poor , first generation. While there are many who have done better, there are not many who are will to share their experiences an know how.
