Funding Usage
If granted funds, I would use them for the expansion of my business. I am currently the only stylist working at my salon. It is a single chair salon and I want to expand into a larger space. I want to offer chair rentals for 2-4 additional hairstylists. I would also like to begin offering other services such as body waxing, manicures, pedicures, eye lash extensions and possibly more. The money would be used to finish and furnish the space and create a professional environment where not only myself, but other people in my industry can grow their businesses.

Business Plan
I am planning to begin adding other professionals to my business so the salon can offer more services and take on more clients. My business has grown faster than I thought it would. By the late spring, early summer I am anticipating either needing to stop taking new clients or expanding my business so that I can continue to grow. I will not be closing my books to new clients so the only next logical step is to grow to meet the demand. I also contribute to the community around me. Through the salon I have been able to do things like helping to sponsor the Light the Night event in my town (Bradford, VT), participate in the town's Trunk or Treat and buy gifts for 8 families during the holidays through Operation Santa Clause. Not only is my salon (Not A Bakery) fulling a need here in town but it also plays a role in helping to maintain a healthy and thriving community.

Self Identified Competition
My top three competitors are another single chair salon here in town, a multiple chair salon in town and another salon a few towns over. None of these salons are currently taking new clients. I am currently still taking on new clients, unlike many of my competitors. I have a uniquely warm, welcoming and comfortable environment where my clients are empowered to communicate with me their hair goals and hopes.
