Elan Hair Lounge | Application Preview
Elan Hair Lounge is seeking government grant funding to cover outstanding costs for previously purchased stations and equipment, boost retail inventory, and enhance their online presence through a website and marketing efforts for recruitment and advertising.
The business plan focuses on increasing the number of stylists to fill chair space, while also investing in additional business training and retail products for sale.
The owner, a single mother of four and a pilot student, faced significant challenges after having to close the salon shortly after the onset of COVID-19. After exhausting personal savings and funds intended for her children's future, she is determined to rebuild her business and regain financial stability.
Elan Hair Lounge competes primarily with other local salons, facing challenges in attracting clients due to the high cost of living. However, the salon's competitive edge lies in the owner’s personal journey as an immigrant who arrived in the U.S. on September 11. Her commitment to community involvement through ongoing fundraisers and giving back to clients distinguishes her business. The salon regularly donates food, money, and essential items in exchange for client participation in these initiatives.

Business Plan
Get more stylists to fill chairs and take more business classes, get more retail for sale. I opened a business as a single mother of 4, I am also a pilot student. I had to close doors 4 months after Covid started and I opened the doors: after I spent my life savings and my childrens car and college money, I had to close the doors pay bills at home and in my salon. I was left with nothing. Trying to grow and get back on my feet.

Self Identified Competition
Most likely all salons in the area. With how expensive life is people are hard to get into salons. I am an immigrant, I came to US 9/11 I came from nothing and am living my American dream. My salon is very community oriented. I do fundraisers all year round, we give cliemts prizes and gift cards but we in retuen donate food, money, diapers.
