Rehan Amin Photography LLC 43914234K | Government Grant Application

Rehan Amin Photography LLC | Application Preview

Rehan Amin Photography LLC is applying for government grants to enhance its business operations. The funding will primarily be used to acquire better equipment and establish a small studio, which is currently a limitation for the business. The studio will enable indoor sessions, a highly requested service among clients seeking family photos, particularly during the holiday season.

The business has been operating for five years and aims to expand its client base and service offerings. Having a dedicated studio will help cater to customer demands, particularly for holiday-themed shoots and mini sessions. Rehan emphasizes the importance of being able to meet client requests without having to decline due to inadequate resources.

In terms of competition, Rehan identifies local photographers, studios, and agencies as the main rivals. Established photographers in New Orleans have a strong clientele and reputation, making it challenging for newcomers to gain recognition. The applicant believes that a studio would help compete against these established names by providing a versatile space for various types of shoots.

What sets Rehan apart is a unique approach to photography. Instead of traditional poses, the focus is on creating fun, candid moments that highlight clients' personalities. This distinctive style involves using props and emphasizing emotional connections, which helps capture the essence of clients' stories in a way that stands out from typical photography services. Overall, the grant funding is viewed as a vital step toward achieving growth and enhancing service capabilities in a competitive market.

  • Funding Usage

My plan is to use the funding to purchase additional and better equipment that can help me bring in more clients. I would also open a small studio to use for indoor sessions. Indoor studio sessions are highly requested but I can not provide that at the moment.

  • Business Plan

My plan is to open a studio where I can meet the needs of potential clients. Not having a studio is hindering my growth because many clients want a simple, indoor session for their family. Holiday themed shoots are very popular with parents for their kids and I want to be able to do those shoots. My first priority would be to open that studio and grow my business. I have big goals that I want to achieve with my business. I have been shooting for five years now and I'm ready to do bigger and better things. I want to gain many more clients and be able to provide whatever service they request. I would upgrade my equipment and purchase holiday themed decorations/setups and do mini sessions for parents who want photos of their kids. I don't like telling clients that I can't do a shoot because I don't have the proper equipment. I want to be able to do so much and reach so many people with my work.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top three competitors are local photographers, studios, and agencies. There are a lot of "go-to" photographers in New Orleans that people have come to recognize. They have a well-known name and it's hard beating them out because of the amount of clients they have. Studios are huge too because they can cater to any needs whether it's a newborn shoot or a holiday-themed shoot. Those shoots are very popular and I want to be able to provide that. Agencies are another because they have "go-to" photographers for their models and it's difficult to sell your work to them because you're never good enough for them I try not to do what other photographers do during their shoots. I try and stand out and be different. I like to use props such as string lights or glass prisms for cool light effects. I also stray away from posed photos and instead, I direct my clients to do fun, sometimes silly, photos that show raw emotion and really tell a story about the kind of couple they are. My photos show the clients personality. I feel like that's where I stand out and that makes me different.
