Carolina Emergency Vehicle Services 92-2903709 | Government Grant Application

Carolina Emergency Vehicle Services | Application Preview

Carolina Emergency Vehicle Services is applying for government grants to fund the purchase of essential equipment, including pumps, ladders, generators, and fire hose testing equipment. These items are necessary for complying with NFPA 1911 annual testing requirements, which are critical for maintaining their business operations. The application also seeks funding to cover one year’s salary for an employee dedicated to performing these tests.

The business has a solid plan for growth, indicating that with timely support, they will hire additional staff within months to effectively operate the new equipment, including a paid office person and mechanics to handle truck repairs. They anticipate expanding their workforce to over 12 employees within the next five years.

A compelling reason for funding approval is highlighted through the dedication of the owner, Shannon, who aims to provide essential services to local emergency services. The local market for reliable and affordable servicing of emergency vehicles is limited, often resulting in excessive vehicle downtime. By improving service times and reducing downtime, Carolina Emergency Vehicle Services can help save taxpayer money and ensure that emergency responders are better equipped to perform their duties.

In terms of competition, the business identifies a few key players that primarily focus on dealership services and may not offer comprehensive testing for ladders, hoses, or generators. These competitors often have unpredictable pricing structures, while Carolina Emergency Vehicle Services prides itself on transparency and fair pricing based on actual service hours. The company distinguishes itself as a hardworking, honest provider in a market with few similar options, emphasizing that its owner is a dedicated female minority entrepreneur committed to making a positive impact in the community.

  • Funding Usage

Purchase equipment for pumps, ladders, generators, and fire hose testing equipment. This is needed to be able to perform the NFPA 1911 annual required testing. We will have to purchase these items to be able to stay in business in this field. I would like to have one years salary for a employee that would be performing the test.

  • Business Plan

Yes. I believe if we got the help needed soon. We should be able to hire a couple more people within months. These would be to run the equipment purchased. Paid office person. The added customers would allow us to hire more mechanics to repair the trucks. I would think we will have 12 plus employees within 5 years. Shannon is a hard worker. She has a desire to provide a service to the local government that is needed to make sure they’re able to perform their duties of saving people. The market for companies that are willing to provide honest and affordable service to the local emergency service is very small. The down time of these vehicles are long as a result of that. We want to help keep the vehicles on the road. We can increase time in service and decrease down time. This will keep the number of back up trucks needed at a lower number. Saving the tax payers money wasted and allow the government to spend the money in more needed places.

  • Self Identified Competition

CW Williams, Atlantic Emergency Solutions, Atlantic Coast fire sales. They are dealerships. They do services and repairs on their brand of trucks. They perform pump testing on trucks. They don’t test ladders, hoses or generators. There hourly rates varies. There amount of hours billed is based off a guess of what they think the job should pay not the actual time. There is no labor guide so prices are crazy high and varies per customer. We’re a honest company that will employ honest hard working people. We charge for hours of services provided not a made up number like other companies do. We don’t have truck manufacturers backing us nor owned by a large multi state company. Our owner is a hard working female (minority) that is trying to make a living for her and employers providing a service that is needed.
