Point In Time | Application Preview
Point In Time is seeking government grants to support three main areas. Firstly, they aim to address existing financial losses, specifically by covering unpaid therapy sessions, which amount to about $4,500, and assist clients with outstanding balances. As a startup, they faced initial challenges in establishing payment systems but are now focused on resolving these outstanding issues.
Secondly, the funding will help secure their first year of office space, estimated to cost between $4,000 and $6,000. While they currently provide online mental health counseling, there is a demand for in-person sessions, especially for clients, including children, who prefer face-to-face interactions.
Lastly, any remaining funds will be allocated to provide mental health services for the uninsured and underemployed, with an additional $2,000 covering six months of service for those in need.
In terms of their business plan, Point In Time aims to expand over the next five years by hiring more therapists and acquiring additional office space to better serve the community. They highlight the urgent need for mental health services amidst the ongoing crisis and position themselves as a vital resource, especially as many therapists are unable to take on new clients.
Despite being in operation for just one year, Point In Time boasts a skilled team with over 20 years of experience in the field and more than 50 years collectively. They emphasize their commitment to quality service and ideal working conditions by carefully selecting new team members based on their backgrounds and expertise. Rather than viewing other local agencies as competitors, they consider them as complementary resources, aiming to increase accessibility and support for those struggling to find mental health assistance.

Funding Usage
There are three streams that the funding would be used for. First would be to cover existing losses in the form of missed payments. Funds would be used to pay therapists for unpaid sessions and to assists clients who have outstanding balances. That current balance stands at about $4,500. As a startup, it took us time to set up the proper systems to ensure coverage and payment. Those systems are in place now, we are just working to clean up our books and assist our clients with money owed. Second, we would use money to secure our first year of office space. The cost for one year is estimated at $4,000 - $6,000. We currently provide online mental health counseling, but have spoken with clients who prefer face-to-face. We are currently unable to serve those clients, many of whom are children. Our numbers, specifically office space, are estimates. Any leftover funds would be used to provide mental health counseling for the uninsured and under employed. Each additional $2,000 would cover 6/months of service.

Business Plan
Over the next five years, we intend to hire additional therapists and acquire office space to better serve the community. We would like investor to consider Point In Time because we offer a wide range of services to a broad group of clients, many of whom cannot find the help that they need. Due to the current mental health crisis, many therapists are unable to accept new clients. Since beginning one year ago, we have grown to a team of 5 and offer services including counseling, life couching, and mindfulness. We have had success with both children and adults and have assisted members in the LGBTQ community, as well as members who are coping with addiction. We are looking to double our staff and therefore double our services in the next year.
-
Self Identified Competition
There are a variety of therapists and counseling agencies in the area. They are not seen as competitors, but as additional resources. Many of our clients are having a hard time finding access to the services they require because there is currently a shortage of help. Although our business has only been established for 1 year, our group has been in the field for more than 20 years with more than 50 years of combined experience. We have done everything we can to combine the best parts of our past into one agency to provide quality service for our clients, and ideal working conditions for our therapists. With each new person we carefully add to our team, we consider their past, and what their history can teach us about our future.
