Massaro Family Food Services LLC | Application Preview
Massaro Family Food Services LLC is seeking government grants to outfit a mobile kitchen truck with necessary restaurant equipment and accessories. The business plans to operate the truck primarily on weekends during its first year, with the intention of expanding to full-time operation as revenue grows.
The proposal emphasizes participation in Connecticut's food festivals and a strong focus on marketing through social media to reach targeted demographics. Within five years, the goal is to achieve $500,000 in gross sales, which would enable the purchase of an additional truck and a brick-and-mortar location to serve as a commissary kitchen for other food truck operators.
The application highlights the applicant's background as a Colombian woman who has worked tirelessly for her family and community. Her dedication and personal drive to improve her circumstances and those of her community are presented as key reasons to support her venture.
In terms of competition, the applicant sees herself as her own biggest competitor, driven by a desire to provide better for her family and community. While other food trucks and traditional establishments pose competition, she believes her mobile service offers a unique advantage by bringing meals directly to customers. The commitment to quality service and locally sourced ingredients will further distinguish her business from others in the market.

Business Plan
I plan on working the truck on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the 1st year of the use of the truck. Once I am able to gross enough revenue to sustain the business without using my personal income, I will work the truck 6 to 7 days a week. The plan is to be apart of all the CT food festivals in the state. I would heavily leverage social media to brand and market my business to our demographics. In five years and once we reach 500K in gross sales for the year, I would like to purchase another truck to outfit so we can cover twice the amount of functions as well as purchasing a brick and mortar commercial real estate to house our trucks and create a commissary Kitchen for other food truck businesses who need space to grow and expand their own businesses. Investors should invest in my business because I am a Colombian woman who came to America at 17 years old. I have worked and sacrificed my entire life to this point in the service of others and my family. I feel my drive and dedication I will commit to building my business will help support parts of our community that are in need of our services. Also, I am a hard working woman who wants better for her children. I have always wanted to build a food business from the ground up and now is the time to make that dream come true.

Self Identified Competition
My first competitor is myself. The drive inside me to want better for everyone around me is a burning feeling that never goes away and only gets stronger as I want to help more. My second competitors would be other mobile food services and the third would have to be brick and mortar food establishments. The defining area that separates myself from my competitors in terms of brick and mortar is we are able to service people in their desired location. In terms of other food trucks, it will be the quality of service and products that will separate us from the competition. We will source local fruits and vegetables in season as well as any proteins available.
