Logia Logistics | Application Preview
Logia Logistics is applying for government grants to secure funding for essential materials needed to operate the business, including warehouse space, trucks, pallets, and equipment. The business plan involves developing a franchise model following a proof of concept and collaborating with a franchise expansion specialist.
The primary goal of the grant is to establish a non-profit organization that efficiently channels usable goods from retail waste into valuable resources for other non-profits. Logia aims to create a streamlined process that includes a digital storefront for selling donation tokens, which can be redeemed for merchandise. After a designated period, any unsold goods will be donated directly to local non-profits. Additionally, the organization will offer logistics support to help local non-profits manage donations more effectively and at a low cost. By partnering with retailers to buy surplus goods at reduced prices, Logia will not only lower markdown expenses for stores but also provide them with tax-deductible donation opportunities.
Currently, Logia faces no direct competition, with only Goodwill being a potential player in the space. Goodwill is seen as a partner rather than a competitor, as Logia will donate unsold items from its platform to them. Logia's competitive advantage lies in its logistics expertise, making it well-suited for e-commerce and fostering collaboration among government, non-profits, and for-profit entities. The overarching aim is to strengthen community ties and improve communication between these groups.

Business Plan
My plan is to franchise my idea once the proof of concept is done. I am working with a company that specializes in franchise based expansion. I am creating a non-profit organization that will do many great things all in one streamlined process. The basic concept is taking usable goods out of retail waste streams and turning them into revenue streams for worthy non-profits. The process includes running a digital storefront to sell donation tokens that can be redeemed for available merchandise. This will create a self sustainable model for the Logia. After a set time the goods would then be directly donated to a list of local non-profits. In addition we will be providing logistics support to all the local non-profits for a very minimal cost. This will allow the community to accept donations that they normally couldn't. I will also create a deal with retailers to purchase goods at a greatly reduced cost and run that through the process. This creates incentive for the stores as they can greatly reduce their markdown budgets while helping a good cause. They could mark any reduction in cost as tax deductible donations instead of loss.

Self Identified Competition
At this point I have no competitor. The closest I have is goodwill but they are actually cooperative as they are going to receive a good amount of the donations that don't sell well on a digital front such as furniture. I will also be donating cash to them from the resulting funds. We are a logistics service at heart. This makes us much more adept to ecommerce. We also plan to bring the community together by dealing with government, non-profit and for profit organizations and helping to meet everyone's needs. The ultimate goal is to create a better sense of community and open lines of communication.
