FootHills Behavioral Health | Application Preview
FootHills Behavioral Health is seeking government grants to support the hiring of a front desk staff member, who will also handle billing through their Electronic Health Records system. The requested funding of $72,800 annually will cover approximately half of the staff position, which is expected to pay between $25.00 and $35.00 per hour. The remaining funds will be allocated to advertising, educational materials, offering pro-bono care, and making office upgrades to enhance patient comfort.
The business is experiencing gradual growth, adding 15-30 new clients each month, and believes that hiring front desk staff is essential to sustain this growth and improve community access to mental health and medication management services.
FootHills Behavioral Health emphasizes its unique approach to patient care, prioritizing personalized treatment and collaboration with patients and their healthcare providers. This focus on patient involvement is seen as key to achieving better health outcomes.
While recognizing competition from organizations like Alaska Behavioral Health, Providence Behavioral Health, and Matsu Regional Behavioral Health, the practice feels that its commitment to listening to patients and providing a holistic approach gives it a competitive advantage in the local market.

Funding Usage
I need to hire a front desk staff and hoping to have them also do the billing through my EHR (Electronic Health Records); This position will be $25.00-$35.00/hr position to equal about 50% of the grant funding requested (72,800/year at 40hrs/week x 52 weeks). The rest of the grant funds will be spent on advertising, educational materials, providing Pro-Bono care (not turning away any patient for the inability to pay), and office upgrades for patient comfort.

Business Plan
My business is slowly growing to gaining about 15-30 new clients per month; I need Front staff to help the growth and continue to gain community access to mental health and medication management I feel that my practice is unique and have patients that follow me because I personalize care and allow the patient to be heard. I strongly agree in collaborative practice with patient involvement in their healthcare as well as collaboration with their other providers to allow better continuity of care with great patient outcomes.

Self Identified Competition
Healthcare is a different type of competitor and my 3 top competitors would probably be Alaska Behavioral Health, Providence Behavioral Health, and Matsu Regional behavioral Health; but the caviat to this is my competitors are also a great resource. simply put I do not dictate healthcare and listen to my patients. I feel that they receive very personalized healthcare taking a much needed wholistic approach to care as well as medication management.
