Harris House 85-4035398 | Government Grant Application

Harris House | Application Preview

Harris House is applying for a government grant to support its initiative to house and assist homeless veterans. The funding request totals $12,150, allocated for various needs: $5,000 for a cash car for doctor appointments, $1,800 for beds, $1,350 for portable closets, $8,000 to expand two showers, and $1,000 for toiletries.

The business plan aims to replicate the current program by reinvesting profits into purchasing additional tax-owned homes, allowing more veterans to find housing. In the next 3-5 years, the vision includes establishing a camp made from recycled shipping containers to offer permanent residency for 100 veterans. The project emphasizes sustainability and energy efficiency.

The applicant stresses the importance of this initiative, stating that their personal sacrifice of moving out of their home for the benefit of veterans showcases their commitment to addressing veteran homelessness. With 91 more veterans to help, they seek support to achieve this goal.

While competition exists, the applicant highlights the ongoing issue of homelessness, especially among veterans, noting the shortage of landlords willing to participate in housing programs for veterans. The competitive advantage lies in the commitment and selflessness shown by the founder, who is dedicated to creating a strong brand within the veterans’ assistance sector. Harris House aims to leverage the growing need for veteran housing to meet business goals and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders involved.

  • Business Plan

I will duplicate this same program, I will save the profits and purchase another tax owned home and put 9 more Veterans in that home. In 3-5 years I will open a camp for the homeless Veterans made from the old shipping containers. I will alter the containers to make that space a permanent residence for 100 Veterans. Everything will be recycled and energy efficient. I understand that it is not just about me. I am moving out of my home and giving it to the Veterans that kept this country safe. If I can do the same for 9 Veterans to keep them off of the streets and out of homelessness I hope that you can see the selflessness I have and help support my dream. I have 91 more Vets to help. are you in??

  • Self Identified Competition

The best thing about what I am doing is that, it is 13 percent homelessness and of that 13 percent 7 percent of that are homeless veterans. The funding is there, but there are not enough landlords willing to participate in the program to house the homeless Veterans. I have given my home up for a Nobel cause ensuring a safe, secure place for our Veterans. I am determined as a business owner to create a strong brand in the provisions of all "Veterans Affairs" to create a strong but completive brand becoming a major player in this sector. The growing number of homeless Vets enables Harris House to achieve my set business goals, increase profitability and reinforce my positive long-term relationships with my clients, partners and employees as well.
