Funding Usage
The Triton Hawk Learning & Collaboration Mini-Lab will be a space where all students, staff, and parents belonging to the THS family can professionally and confidentially meet for a variety of purposes throughout the entire school day and year. The duties of my role as Triton's Instructional Technology Facilitator require a space for 1-to-1 and small group (10-15) collaboration and teaching of students and staff continuously. The space currently serves no purpose, and it has been waiting for someone to sort out the junk to make way for an inviting space where visitors will want to return to take advantage of the opportunities provided there repeatedly. Currently, the only items we actually have for this project are the conference table and chairs. This space is open along one wall to the Media Center, therefore privacy is completely absent, as is noise interference. The potential for this space is endless, but it needs the tools for proper and efficient instruction through video conferencing equipment, technology extensions, storage, and organization for the various purposes this space will serve. The multiple robotics sets, break-out boxes, 3-D Printer, and other randomly collected STEAM resources we already have will be better displayed for Staff selection. A small space for a information station to house instructions for each of the sets will also be created with this project.

Business Plan
The growth of our STE(A)M Program will depend on this project to grow. The goals of this project are to re-purpose a wasted space for the following intended, but not limited to, purposes: (1) Design of a functional workspace for Student/Staff/Parent small group conferencing, collaboration, tutoring, and/or presentations; (2)Create a separate setting and 1-to-1 needs for testing accommodations for students of special needs within the Exceptional Children's umbrella; (3) Create solutions to Student/Staff digital learning needs for Virtual Meetings with other students/staff from outside of our school and higher-ed institutions; (4) Allow for a Teacher digital learning and teaching lab for Subject-Area Professional Learning Teams, School Improvement Meetings, and Professional Development opportunities with possibility to incorporate members virtually from outside the school; (5) Set-up a professional and confidential Parent-Student-Teacher-Case Worker-Administrator Conference space which can be used face-to face or virtually. (6) Arrangement and coordination of the storage and display of STEAM resources and kits organized in a way for easy Staff review and selection. (7) Creation of small space allocated for a Staff Resource Library desk for quick access to FAQs regarding the displayed STEAM resources. Being a midsized high school in a widespread agricultural community, we do not have many opportunities to incorporate STE(A)M enrichment activities into our curriculums in the same ways many urban areas may. We have many subgroups who's interest and willingness to engage in STE(A)M programs has exponentially grown over the past few years. Examples are from are growing female students who request robotics and engineering courses and clubs of which we have just not been able to house or provide resources. These female students are a part of the diverse groups of students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds who are joining our small, but growing Robotics club, and increasingly signing up for Career and Technical Education courses, which would benefit greatly from this particular addition to our school.

Self Identified Competition
We are always competing with the larger, more resourceful counties around us for everything, from hiring of quality, loyal teachers, to the awards of grants to our local schools. Due to the obvious growth we have seen in the number of students signing up for STEM related courses and requesting increased numbers of clubs also related to this area, I am certain this addition to our school will help this drive continue to gather support and gather interest. We will be able to network our rurally locked students with outside collaborating staff and students to grow their worlds beyond anything possible before this project. We will be able to video conference and learn from instructors from across the globe where this possibility would not occur prior. Our school is one of four high schools in our district. We are sandwiched between two large districts who tend to suck the life out of our county at times with their amazing innovations and exceptional resources. We are always trying to stay even close to as advanced as those districts, and seem to always fall short. This award of funds would give our school and district an opportunity to provide our students with the same innovative teaching strategies and networks that those other districts are able to provide regularly. The possibilities for this project to increase communication and support for our school across every content area are tremendous.
