  • Funding Usage

My plan was to use this money as a down payment on a work truck for my newly started gardening business. To make all of this possible I need a one ton dump bed truck for hauling materials on and off of job sites. I have always bought used and affordable vehicles and never have bought from a dealership due to the cost of payments with the help from this grant I will have enough for a down payment so the monthly payments are affordable for me. if I was granted the money I will use it entirely for a down payment on the truck.

  • Business Plan

Over the past 10 years I have landscaping and gardening for various companies and over those years I have established a name for myself through all of the jobs I have acquired. Now after a rough falling out at my previous job I have started my own business however this time I decided to stick with what I love to and that's strictly gardening maintenance. I am starting off as a Sole Proprietor but have plans to grow. I have grew up in the valleys of southern Vermont surrounded by ski resorts where the demand for gardeners and second homes maintenance is an all time high. I am hoping that in 5 years I will be as successful as other long time businesses in my area. I have a lot of support from family, friends and acquaintances to were I know my company will at least be successful. My work over the years have improved drastically and has been appreciated by many. In time I want to have long term clients and plenty of new opportunities to share my passion with the southern Vermont counties by making beautiful landscape gardens. I am a determined and dedicated hard worker. I know it's easy to say that however I have always worked hard for everything I have ever had and I spent many years saying that I was going to stop letting myself get taken advantage of and underpaid by employers who never appreciated me because I was a girl and wouldn't amount to much. I am not getting any younger and I know what I am capable of accomplishing I just started this business because I know I can be successful and gross a lot of money in the end. Living in Vermont is tough because the cost of living is very hard on a minimum wage income. I just want to make the money I know I deserve to make and in the end the company will be paying for itself.

  • Self Identified Competition

Where I am located is a high tourist area due to the surrounding ski resorts and secondary homes so the landscaping companies in my town with high competition include: Homestead , Landscape Constructions, and Wise Oak. I worked for Wise Oak for 5 years until they let me go for a reason I did not agree with and what pushed me to start my own business The only reason they are successful is due to their many years of business and the equipment acquired over time; it's not about the amount of money they have it's the quality of their work they represent My work is done the way it should be I will show up and complete the jobs as they are assigned. I was maintaining over 60 landscape properties by myself for over 4 years while competing companies would have crews of multiple people doing the same amount of work. When I have dedication towards something I am unstoppable. I am not out to take money from homeowners but to create bonds with them and help them create the visions they see for their homes. I want to go to a job site and enjoy what I am doing because the work is done honestly and professionally.
