The Bolling Family Association | Application Preview
The Bolling Family Association is seeking government grants to support restoration efforts at Cobbs Cemetery in Chester (Enon), Virginia. The primary goal is to identify the burial locations at this site, which holds historical significance as the resting place of John Bolling, a descendant of Pocahontas. The cemetery suffered destruction of grave markers during the Civil War, necessitating this work. Additionally, the association plans to renovate a surrounding walled area built by the heirs of former governor Wyndham Robertson.
The association's business plan focuses on promoting awareness of the Bolling family's colonial history and lineage. This includes encouraging genealogical research, collecting and publishing family information, and forming partnerships with other genealogical organizations, libraries, museums, and academic institutions.
The association believes that securing funding will enable them to preserve the heritage and contributions of the original Bolling immigrants and their descendants across Virginia and beyond. Notably, they emphasize that they face no competition in their efforts, positioning themselves uniquely in the realm of family heritage preservation.
