Business Plan
Our business will start out renting up to 10 full backcountry ski packages to clients visiting the Sheldon Chalet. Each year we hope to double our package availability which will also require more employees to help with more gear deliveries, repairs, and adjustments. As we begin to be able to accommodate more clients we will start to require employment opportunities for marketing and outreach, ski technicians, boot fittings, and reception. We also wish to build an office space where clients can be outfitted in gear before heading out on their adventures. We hope to grow to fill the gap in Alaska for backcountry ski rentals in a rapidly expanding market. Currently, we have multiple guiding operations that we plan to reach out to, as we can accommodate them, to begin a rental agreement with them and their clients and secure large chunks of the market. We are a 50/50 female/male owned business made up of 4 individuals who have all been deeply submersed in the backcountry skiing industry since a very young age. We all currently earn income through guiding in the industry and 2 owners have been running a successful outdoor gear rental company supplying soft goods for clients in AK. Our passion for the industry have submerged us deep enough to see the large gap in the market for available backcountry ski rentals in the state of Alaska, a world rebound backcountry ski destination. As professionals in the industry we can use our bank of expertise to provide safe, reliable, and quality backcountry ski products that exceed the industry standard and provide users with an authentic and unforgettable time exploring the endless Alaskan backcountry terrain. We hope investors will choose us because we are starting this venture with the goal to put the consumer first and provide a stepping stone for those to try a new form of recreation that can be intimidating to some because of the initial cost and commitment or for some to continue their love for backcountry skiing while visiting the great state of Alaska.

There are currently only 2 places in Alaska renting backcountry skis, Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking(AMH), and Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental(AOGR). AMH is an outdoor retail store in Anchorage, AK. AOGR is a gear rental company for outdoor gear from kayaks and packrafts to skis and outdoor layers, accommodating many other specific outdoor activities as well in Anchorage, AK. Our competitors do not specifically focus on backcountry ski rentals like we will, it is more of a small side piece of each business and not the whole purpose. This will allow us to have more available packages for rental and the opportunity to focus more time and energy on having the highest quality and well kept ski gear on the market. We are also located just outside Anchorage on the way to the most popular backcountry skiing destination in South Central Alaska, Turnagain Pass.
