  • Funding Usage

We are looking to grow our catalog exponentially by the end of the year (20+ new designs or 100+ new products). To make these design efforts worth it though we need to be able to expand our marketing efforts on all platforms and start participating in local pop up markets to facilitate greater brand awareness. This funding would help with overhead expenses such as design and website programming, branding materials, marketing campaigns, marketing tools such as Sales Samurai, a continuing education course for myself on new online marketing strategy, booth and registration fees for local markets, and help with starting wages for my partner and I.

  • Business Plan

In the next 5 years we plan to build a recognizable brand name in the state of Kansas. We plan to sell products to local shops and vendors for resale as well as expanding our brand to outside markets. Our goal in 5 years is to be able to support and run a successful wholesaler business, 2 brand websites (one in state branded and one out of state), and a Kansas storefront of our own. That storefront will not only showcase our own designs but other local artists and vendors as well. You should invest in us not just because of our determination and past experience in the world of retail and retail management, but also who we are as individuals. I am a mom of two with an art degree, who recently had to step back from her own career due to childcare expenses and found herself planning how to start building this business we had been talking about for years . I am hard worker, still working part time while running this household and spearheading this start up. I am driven and determined to grow this business into something that can support our family as well as our community for years to come. My husband and business partner is a Hispanic man and graphic designer that has always gone above and beyond to provide for our family no matter how far it taken him away from his design passion. He is currently working full time job with Apple and putting in just as much time into this start up. The two of us together are focused on building this to its full potential and have a great track record of succeeding with our goals. This partnered with our 20+ years retail management in a corporate setting, makes us great candidates for a small business grant. We want to contribute to this community by growing a business that can support our family, our community, and support other local start ups and artists. We truly have the business knowledge to back our business dreams and gradually grow this business to its full potential.

  • Self Identified Competition

Bell Boy Apparel Charlie Hustle Made in KC All three of these companies have an apparel/ product design focus and all three are in different stages of growth. They are a good representation of our business potential and where we are going. Bell Boy Apparel is a small business with the potential to expand past the local market, Charlie Hustle is a larger operation with more designers branching out from the Kansas market and becoming more well known in the US, and Made in KC is supporting these businesses and more like them in there several store fronts in the KC metro area. Made in KC has grown exponentially in the last 5 years and are well known for their brand and support of other entrepreneurs. All of this sounds great, but why us? We are similar but also different from these three blossoming brands because of our backgrounds and potential growth outside of the Kansas City Metro. We have the corporate insight from years of experience with the heart of local entrepreneurs. Our plan that includes scaling growth gradually to with stand the test of time. We plan to build retail communities based on community growth and inclusion that eventually span outside of Kansas. My partners military upbringing gives us connections that reach from as far as Alaska to Florida and could make us marketable across several states and demographics. All of this to say that we not only have an 5 year plan but a10 & 15 year plan as well. Our main focus and objectives are building and supporting community growth and partnerships as we grow.
