Farm and Funk 93-4029439 | Government Grant Application

Farm and Funk | Application Preview

Farm and Funk is applying for government grants to cover startup costs for a small t-shirt business. The initial focus will be on printing t-shirts, with plans to expand into hats, mugs, tumblers, and selling locally produced honey through beekeeping.

The application emphasizes the need for funding due to the lack of employment opportunities in the applicant's small, rural town, which is about an hour away from the nearest larger town. The applicant aims to provide jobs in an area with limited options and expresses a strong commitment to making the business successful.

Currently, there are no direct competitors, and the applicant welcomes the idea of friendly competition. Their competitive advantage lies in their life experience, particularly as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), which has equipped them with skills in structure, time management, and customer service. The applicant expresses a determined mindset, believing that the effort they invest will yield positive outcomes for both the business and the community.

  • Funding Usage

Start up cost of a small t-shirt business.

  • Business Plan

I would like to start with printing T-shirt’s, then expand to hats, mugs and tumblers. I would also like to get some honey bees and sell locally grown honey. I live in a very small town, in an extremely rural area. The closest town with employment opportunities is about an hour away. I believe this will create employment opportunities where there are virtually none. I am a very hard worker and will do everything in my power to make sure this business succeeds in both selling t- shirts and creating job opportunities in this very rural part of the state.

  • Self Identified Competition

I do not have competitors yet, but I’m looking forward to some friendly competition. I have a lot of life experience to grow from. I’m a nurse, LPN, so I am familiar with structure, time management, and customer service. I believe you get back what you put in to whatever you are doing, I will give this my all.
