  • Funding Usage

My plan for this grant is to consolidate credit card debt acquired during slow months. Pay off or pay down debt owed on the machine I purchased earlier this year. I will also pay off my line of credit so I have the cushion to purchase materials for jobs without having to use credit cards. Another goal is to move this business forward without the debt cloud so that I can obtain two to three employees to further grow my business. To relieve myself of stress and extremely long work hour days.

  • Business Plan

Right now I currently make deliveries to job sights, return to office pick up machine drive back to job site, complete the job task, load machine and tool up return to office. Clean machines and tools, schedule deliveries and load trailers for next job. Answer incoming calls, drive to review job and send customers quotes. At the end of the day and on weekends I have to type up and email quotes. Growing this business with financial help will allow me to find some help to spread the work load out so that I can focus on customer relations, and verifying the integrity of the work like I do now when I'm completing the task on my own. Im looking at purchasing a dump truck and a small excavator to assist with deliveries and towing of equipment. This purchase will also allow me to hire a CDL driver to take that responsibility from me as well. All while putting money back into my community. I worked offshore most of my adult life, 14-14 schedule and missed out on valuable time with my wife and kids. I started doing lawn and land work about ten years ago on my 14 days off. then when covid hit and the quarantines became so lengthy to fly offshore and staying for over a month at a time, my wife had a break down. I promised her I would never go back. I have struggle and done just about any job to keep growing business and keep food on the table. this pass year I was in an accident that put me out of work for almost 3 months. I have survived going on close to three years with no financial support. I mostly think it was pride but now I'm ready to except the fact this will make things easier. I CAN NOT FAIL AT THIS, being home and not offshore has allowed me to coach my sons sports teams and spend time cooking and helping around the house. All in all I try to pay it forward and I have 2-3 high school teenagers that do help me out and I pay them cash. But I need some freedom from debt to acquire some full time employees.

  • Self Identified Competition

Im one of the only Land guys who does deliveries and executes work in my area. Yes I'm talking on a small scale. Not bulldozers and extreme land development. There is enough work in my area that the competition isn't very cut throw. Because of the large amount of work available. Im on a slightly different scale because I work weekends and late nights to complete jobs. I bring my small machine with me when I do quotes. I knock some jobs out the day of the quote because I don't have to review scheduling and deal with a cloud of unnecessary paper piles. I have started to acquire revisit calls, customers who I have done work for previously, contractors who have requested me to become apart of their regular projects. Im different cause this Is a family run business and my goal is to keep the younger generation friend, family and neighbors kids the opportunity to have a job and learn a growing trade without being a number. My teenage son has work with me for the last 2 years after school and during the summer. He graduates this year and I would really like to be able to give him a full time position.
