Business Plan
We have a brand new board in 2023. A group of people who really care about our community and are actively coming up with ideas to make our swim club better. We have a board that is very diverse with people of all differen races/ethnicities and backgrounds. We are a non profit pool - the goal is to bring in new members every year. This past year, with the help of the new board, we grew membership by about 15%. How did we do this? -Promoting the pool on various social outlets -Offer membership options for new and returning members -Various events to bring people together throughout the year (please visit our website you can see the past social calendar) -Open and transparent communication -Swimming instruction and competitive swim team -Programs for children just learning how to swim -Clean and cleanly environment We have been in business servicing the Wilmington area since 1957. Shellcrest is a place where kids can enjoy the summer time and make life long bonds and friendships. Where all families are welcome to engage in the events we have and make new friends in a casual environment. We are struggling mighty due to a lot of maintenance that had gone in to the pool in years past - and we are getting to a point where opening this season may not be a reality. Which breaks my heart. Because we now have a board of people who are so damn passionate about this pool - and want to make it the best place possible for the kids and families who count on us. This pool is more than just a place where people go and cool off. It's a place where people can truly be themselves and put their stresses to the side while they are there. Where kids can learn important life lessons about growing up. Where adults can watch the joy of their kids learning how to swim or dive off a diving board. Shellcrest is vital to the North Wilmington community. I, as President, will do whatever possible to get this pool open this year. I'm not in it for praise or accolades - don't care about any of that. What I am in it for are my children - and our members children.

Silverside Swim Club Graylyn Crest Swim Club Crestview Swim Club -We promote diversity and inclusion of anyone who would like to join our swim club -We have social events throughout the year to continue the summer bonds that have been made -Safety is paramount -We offer payment options for families who need it -We have a huge area of land behind the pool which is incredible for events/sports etc
