Business Plan
I plan to use the Taungya system, (an agroforestry management system that involves growing crops and planting tree seedlings) on five acres. My system will consist of pecan trees, blueberries, and muscadine grapes. On the other five I plan to install high and low tunnels to grow year round. This will consist of tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, and melons. I have been gardening for years and giving excess to people in need in my community. I Am currently in school for my BA in Agribusiness and creating networks with my professors and classmates as well as other farmers. Some people would say that farming/gardening is hard work. However, yes it is hard work, but this is also a passion for me. I enjoy planting a seed and watching it grow into something that you can consume along with health benefits. I was about 13 when I first started working on the farm, getting up early. That continued in the military, getting up early and getting things done.

Self Identified Competition
There is one local grocery store where there used to be five. There is a Wal-Mart and a Kroger within a 10 mile radius. I plan to use natural organic fresh produce. Most competitors focus on profit and not the overall health benefit of the people and the planet. People would not have to be concerned with added preservatives and wax to keep the food fresh. I do not have the overhead my competitors have.
